Long-Term Care Housing Corporation (LTCHC) is taking off! By the end of 2006, homecare and nursing home workers will celebrate the grand opening of more than 20 new homes. It's amazing how a program launched only a few years ago, has come so far so quickly. Under the leadership and vision of
SEIU United Long-Term Care Workers Local 6434
President, Tyrone Freeman, the Long Term Care Housing Corporation provides quality, affordable homes to low income families. In 2005 we opened two new homes in Compton, but look at our solid accomplishments and the great things still to come:

AND BUILDING NEW HOMES
The LTCHC established a rewarding relationship with the City of Compton. Our first two homes opened in Compton last year, and city officials continue to assist our efforts to open a 28 unit condominium project.
The California Community Foundation, a land trust company, is helping us purchase property and large parcels of land. Any land acquired, will be developed into family units. The foundation is currently working with us on our Lancaster project.
The LTCHC recently met with the management team from the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency (LA CRC) about the possibility of building homes on land owned by the City. Our construction and design team met with the LA CRC to present the new and innovative styles that are emerging in the housing industry.
In addition, the Long Term Care Housing Corporation is hoping to work with government officials to build 5 to 10 new homes owned by the city of Los Angeles. |
